The theme for Green Kid Crafts in July is Gardening.  We plan on bringing you fun crafts and activities that encourage your little ones to go outside and discover all the beauty that nature has to offer.  Check out our website for more information on our Discovery Box Subscriptions and Digital Subscriptions.

Here’s our fun Growing Beans Activity:

Growing Beans Craft - Voices from the Ville

Step 1: Put the dry beans in a damp paper towel and put all inside the jar.

Step 2:  My kids didn’t believe me that beans would sprout into plants. So here we are checking after three days.

Step 3:  One week later we had fully sprouted beans!  After we examined them for awhile, I had my preschool kids take some dry beans and glue onto a paper with their sight words written on it. They had fun and it was great for fine motor skills.

As an environmental scientist and a working mother of two, Penny Bauder saw a need for a convenient solution that would allow families to spend quality time together enjoying fun activities that brought them closer to each other and also closer to nature. So, in 2010, Green Kid Crafts was officially born. Green Kid Crafts is an eco-friendly company that provides creative activities to do with kids through their eco-friendly arts, crafts, and science boxes. Green Kid Crafts is carbon neutral, Green America Approved, and a member of 1% for the Planet – pledging to donate a portion of every sale to environmental charities.
